For the 3rd year of collaboration, D2 Place is proud to present Le French May Saturday Live @D2 Place this June! For four consecutive weekends, overseas music groups and local band Opium, Electrogene Fanfare Club, Gypsy Swing Trio and Patrick Lui/ Suzanne Jen/ Scott Dodd Trio will perform a number of well-known French chansons in different styles, bringing everyone the charm of France. In addition, D2 Place will roll out different French cultural activities, including French markets, themed workshops, French gourmet and more. With a variety of interactive experience and finger-licking dishes, the whole campaign will give you a taste of authentic French lifestyle. Opium is an original local Indie Pop Rock band blending the voice of french born singer Ingrid Sera-Gillet with unconventional music. They will perform spicy French covers as well as originals, playing with styles, sounds and effects to set the stage on fire!
Electrogene Fanfare Club 8 June 2019
Electrogene Fanfare Club is a marching band formed by a group of french musicians who wanted to bring in Hong Kong the festive art and spirit of Fanfare. They play electrically self-powered pedestrian rock and pay tribute to classic French songs.
Gypsy Swing Trio 15 June 2019
Originally from Nantes in France, Antoine’s musical inﬂuences derive from swing and gypsy jazz. His repertoire runs from the jazz & gypsy classics to traditional French tunes from Edith Piaf… with a subtle gypsy twist.

Musicians from around the world team up to present a selection of French jazz tunes. A captivating multilingual vocalist, Suzanne was educated in England and France, and has performed internationally in numerous jazz venues and festivals. Bassist Scott Dodd, from Australia, has been in constant demand for more than 20 years. Since relocating to Hong Kong he has performed with top jazz musicians and pop singers such as Eugene Pao, Ted Lo, Antonio Hart, Khalil Fong, and George Lam to name a few. Pianist Patrick Lui is an award-winning jazz musician who has performed across the globe including cities like New York, London, Amsterdam, and Paris. He was a semi-finalist at the Bucharest International Jazz Competition, and has appeared in festivals such as EUROPAfest, Taichung International Jazz Festival, and Clockenflap. He has collaborated with local favourites like Eason Chan, RubberBand; and has led his own big band to perform with jazz greats like Alex Sipiagin and Will Vinson.
