Hong Kong Sinfonietta:
Great Violin Concertos: Alexandra Soumm Plays Bruch
One of the most well-loved violin concertos of all time, Bruch's Violin Concerto in G minor is celebrated for its boundless exuberance, expressive lyricism and dramatic energy. This year’s French May Arts Festival, French star violinist Alexandra Soumm will make her Hong Kong début playing this virtuosic classic with Hong Kong Sinfonietta, under the baton of Pascal Rophé. Currently Music Director of the Croatian Radio-Television Symphony Orchestra, Rophé will also conduct Ravel's ever-charming and quintessentially French masterpiece Ma Mère l'Oye, inspired by various beloved French fairytales, and monumental Italian contemporary composer Luciano Berio's atmospheric Requies.
