Whitestone Gallery is pleased to announce that internationally renowned artist Fabien Verschaere is celebrating his 50^th anniversary with a range of events during French May 2025. Accompanying his largest art retrospective in Asia is a wall painting that honours the distinguished career of Fabien Verschaere. Spanning more than five decades, the show includes artworks from the artist’s childhood, key exhibitions, and his career-defining moments. The exhibition takes us on a journey from 1975 to the present, exploring Verschaere's work and universe.

Fabien Verschaere, a French visual artist born in 1975, resides in the vibrant Butte-Montmartre district of Paris. A graduate of the École nationale supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Paris, he has gained international recognition for his unique artwork, influenced by surrealism, underground culture, and comic strips. His exhibitions have spanned the globe, with notable shows at the Grand Palais, Palais de Tokyo, and an upcoming retrospective at the Centre Pompidou in 2024/2025.

Verschaere’s art explores themes of identity, emotion, and the human condition, often drawing from his personal experiences, including a childhood marked by health challenges. His work features a proliferation of images and characters, creating a world that blends dreams and nightmares. The theatricality of his installations invites viewer interaction, transforming spaces into immersive environments reminiscent of fairytales.

Through vibrant colours and dynamic brushwork, Verschaere seeks to convey his emotional journey and challenge perceptions of beauty and monstrosity, merging reality with fiction in a rich, polychrome narrative.
